PA is ranked 46th out of 50 for female representation in the state General
Assembly and is ranked 38th out of 50 for women's voting participation in
recent elections! These staggering statistics serve as a reminder to all
of us that there is still much work to be done if we are to ever "close the
gap" between the representation of men and women in Pennsylvania public office,
particularly the state legislature.
PWCF is committed to work with women and men to change the current political
landscape and to increase political participation of women. Founded in 1982,
PWCF is the only statewide political action committee whose sole purpose
is to support the election of progressive women to public office in Pennsylvania.
As an organization, PWCF is committed to advancing the political status of
women in the Commonwealth.
